The Event

Top high jumpers from around the world will gather in the capital of Qatar, where they will compete against each other, with one athlete crowned the winner of the first edition of the What Gravity Challenge. The winner will take home a custom-made trophy crafted by esteemed local artist Ahmed Al Bahrani.

The What Gravity Challenge represents Mutaz’s personal expression of gratitude to the nation of Qatar, which has supported him throughout his career. It serves as a means of giving back to the community by hosting a competition intended to inspire many to pursue the sport.

Named after Mutaz’s own brand, What Gravity, established in 2014, the high jump meet embodies the slogan's meaning: "Nothing can hold you down." The aim is to encourage individuals to strive for more and eliminate external limitations.

Inspired by years of competing on the international stage, Mutaz conceived the challenge as a platform for world-class high jumpers to showcase their talents and receive appropriate recognition. He strongly advocates for compensating athletes based on their performance and ranking in the sport.

The vision behind the event is to establish a lasting legacy for high jump, inspiring future generations of athletes.
